Talkyard compared to Commento
Commento (https://commento.io) is a commenting system,
which you can add in an <iframe>
below your blog posts.
Both Commento and Talkyard are open-source and privacy focused: they don't show ads or track people.
Commento is more light-weight. Talkyard can, unlike Commento, function also as a discussion forum, should you want that.
Commento looks abandoned: the last Git commits are a few years old, see https://gitlab.com/commento/commento, and the founder has apparently gone unresponsive (as of Nov 2023).
I still find it interesting & relevant to include Commento here — it got lots of attention over at HackerNews some years ago, plus an Open Source Support award from Mozilla. And maybe Commento will be back again in the future, who knows.
